I liked this book, it was a good read and it filled my time with something to do. It wasn't that great of a book as to where I would re-read it just for the fun of it, but Sarah Dessen books always have a place in my heart and, in this case, my bookshelf.

Lock and Key
By: Sarah Dessen

Ruby has always been the one thing that her abusive and alcoholic mother has never moved away from. Sure she'd forget to come home for a few days, but mostly Ruby got along fine by herself. When her mother pulls a stunt of not coming home for a whole month, Child Services takes Ruby to her sister's house, Cora, until the few months when Ruby will turn eighteen. Cora and Ruby havn't talked since Cora ran off to college. Ruby now finds herself in a new school, new clothes, and in a new affair with the perfect boy next door, Nate. But when Ruby gets too close to Nate and finds out a truth she can't believe, will she try and get involved, even if it means Nate hating her? Or will she stay where she is, even if it might mean Nate's life?

I loved this book. This is one of Sarah Dessen's best reads so far. The ultimate choice of whether to keep your distance or get involved is so captivating the way she puts it. Some parts were predictable, but they were such good parts that I didn't want them to be any other way! READ THIS BOOK! :D
