Goals

Academic Goals:

My academic goals over the next four years of high school will be to take as many AP or honors courses that I can comfortably fit into my schedule with allotted time for studying, homework, and free time. Another goal of mine is to give my best effort in these excelled classes and other extracurricular activities, I hope that from this I will earn exceptional grades and add to my learning experience here at Northview.  Other than my classes in the day, I am also planning on auditioning for the fall play and spring musical; I believe this will help me make more friends outside of my regular classes that I would normally never perceive as people I would like to hang out and talk with. One group I am currently active in now is Northview High School Student Council which I would like to get involved more in the school community and see what I can do to better it, I plan on joining the Student Council all of my four years here.  Finally, a very important goal of mine is to make the Northview Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team for the spring 2011 season. I believe if I push myself to my full potential, I could find a place on the team.

My hopes after high school are to be accepted into a four year college, study law, hold down a decent part-time job, with adequate pay, and move into a fairly pleasant apartment with one roommate. Three universities that I am interested in attending after my time at Northview is completed are Stanford University, Michigan University, and Yale University.

Career Goals:

I am quite certain that the profession that I would like to pursue when I grow older is to become a lawyer. I chose that field because ever since I was ten-years-old I was fascinated by the stimulating conversations, the cases, and the debates that would take place in a court room. Being one of those lawyers and actually winning a case, proving your client innocent, and upholding justice for society seems like such an adrenaline rush that I want to be a participant. The skills necessary for this career are negotiating skills, if you’re certain you won’t win the case, you can negotiate benefits for your client like shorter jail time and community service. Debate skills also play a big role in being an attorney simply because you have to defend your client and sometimes argue over the facts to prove your client is innocent. I would like to stay/return to Michigan after my education is complete to work as an attorney, but if that is not possible I would prefer to work in Chicago, Illinois. Some of the most important elements of a profession to me are normal work hours, 8-6 preferably, decent pay, enough so that I can pay for my car, house/apartment, and other bills, and adequate vacation time, having Christmas, Easter, and other national holidays off in addition to 7 weeks paid vacation per year and the ability to work from home some days.
